QUESTION: Are you ever happy with your theme?

Honestly, no. I can be pleased with it but I always make changes. I’ll be happy for a while and then make subtle changes and change again later. Props to you people who have been constant from the beginning! 👌🏻

Gonna try a new theme kind of thing. Brighter colors and whites. I’m too limited with the flat lays at the moment. So bear with me 😂

Also I loveeeeee my candles! Omg! I don’t burn them often as I like to keep them. But sometimes I’ll slip the top off and sit and smell it 😂😂😂 How about you? Do you keep your candles or burn them?

The Entirely Non-existent Best Fantasy Unicorns Award goes to The Firebringer Trilogy ✨🏆✨
.
.
These unicorns aren't sparkles and rainbows, they're fierce horses with stabby horns. There's also a weird incest moment. I haven't actually finished this series yet because I always hoped I'd come across the last book somewhere but no luck so far. .

#sundayshelfie || I thought it was time for a little shelfie for you all! I can’t stare enough at it and all my beautiful books, which will soon round 500! ✨
.
How do you organise your books? I really like how the color coordinated organisation is less confusing, but it is also hard to seperate series! What do you prefer? I’d love to know 🌸

When your local town paper does a feature article on you...you take a picture of it before your children spill popcorn oil all over it. :D
My first book of poetry, Every Watering Word, is available on Amazon, Barnes and Noble as well as Books123.org.

What experiences have you had that led to you writing poetry? I was combing through my early blogposts (The Stretching of Marks: An Autobiography of Poetry at tmychronicles.wordpress.com), reflecting on where I was as a writer, where I am now and where I am trying to go. Here are some musings from my 2011 investigation.
_____ "...my evolution as a writer was spawned by gravitating toward the literary, religious, feminist, and African-American literature surrounding me. I read The Qur’an cover to cover to conceptualize other interpretations of what is God and how best to obey God... Toni Morrison’s and Maxine Hong Kingston’s melding of mystique and the female experience left me spellbound, imprinting upon me transcendental interpretations of what it means to be a woman of color. Morrison’s novel Beloved captured my heart and ambition for how to capture and synthesize the human and holy experiences of Black people on paper. Her classical writing, her mastery of a complex register that is both brutal to read and yet both beautiful and brilliant to witness, made me want to be just like her. Kingston’s The Woman Warrior fascinated me in how myth and memoir marry and divorced throughout one’s life. I read Shange’s other poetry collections (The Love Space Demands, A Daughter’s Geography, Ridin’ the Moon in Texas) as mentor texts for how to write about experience. Reading This Bridge Called My Back: Writings by Radical Women of Color showed me how words can serve as an impetus and agent of change. A class on Romantic writers connected me with Blake’s poetry and Milton’s Paradise Lost, immersing me more deeply into explorations of the relationship between morals and mayhem, between man and God. The sonic and lyrical revolution of Public Enemy compelled me “to keep it real.” Bram Stoker’s Dracula impaled my fascination of writing horror through the genre of letters and diaries. Poetry became a centripetal and centrifugal tool to search myself, to explore and view myself bone by bone for what and who I was becoming, and learning what I could build bone by bone to later export. "

Books are all I think about. What books are stuck on your mind? Currently I'm reading A Torch Against the Night by @sabaatahir and oh my, I've been reminded of why I loved the first book so much.🌸

Book Title: Being Buddha at Work: 108 Ancient Truths on Change, Stress, Money, and Success
Author: Franz Metcalf, B.J. Gallagher
Category: Mind, Body & Spirit
Priced @ MRP 400
Laibary URL: https://goo.gl/njUMY3
Book Description:
Buddhism has for thousands of years provided a spiritual foundation for the daily lives of millions of people around the world. Spiritual wisdom, Western or Eastern, inspires and instructs us in living a good life and that's just as true at work as at home. Buddha mind-a source of calm, compassion and insight-exists within each of us, not just the historical Buddha. Being Buddha at Work shows how to embody that mind in the stress and clamour of the workplace-how to tap into the Buddha consciousness so we can relieve daily tensions and great challenges with awareness, equanimity and good humour. The book is divided into three sections. The first, "Becoming a Mindful Worker," covers Buddha's wisdom for our own work. The second, "Cultivating Mindful Work Relationships," focuses on how to work with other people. The third, "Creating a Mindful Workplace," deals with broader organizational topics. There is wisdom here for everyone-from frontline workers and team members, to supervisors and managers, to top executives and organizational leaders.
There are lots of books that address how we should take care of ourselves, find calm, and enjoy happiness in a hectic work world. But few of those books apply the lessons of Buddhist thinking as resolution and guidance tools.
Following in the tradition of the authors' first bestseller, this work goes on to explore and answer 101 dilemmas that we encounter at work, with topics ranging from time management, goal-setting, conflict to job dissatisfaction, unemployment, and even workplace trysts. The authors emphasize practical learning and coping, not esoteric insights or metaphysics, applying concrete solutions from Buddhist teachings to real problems in easily digestible chunks.

“We are all our past have made us. The accumulation of thousands of daily choices. We can change ourselves, but never erase what we've been. Forgetting those choices doesn't unmake them.” ― Cassandra Clare, Tales from the Shadowhunter Academy

- Favorite Character
.
.
My pick is Simon Lewis. He is such a great character especially in the Tales from the Shadowhunter Academy. He is nerdy, witty, and funny. In times of crisis, he is one who's always ready to sacrifice himself. The feats he did throughout the series for me is far more outstanding than what the MCs did. I won't speak much as I might spoil something from this book. .

#grimdragon day 23, book you were gifted
💙
These are some old school fantasy with a big dash of romance, so I say they count in a romance takeover. With Jennifer Roberson you are guaranteed a richly detailed world, unforgettable characters and of course a badass female leading the way. Sword Dancer does not disappoint. Del is a trained sword dancer from the North, cold, practical, self reliant. Tiger was a slave who won his freedom by becoming a sword dancer in the South. Culturally, they clash a lot. Women aren't warriors in the South. Personally, they strike sparks. Del takes zero shit, and dislikes Tiger's carefree attitude. Tiger is used to being the hottest option around, and has no patience for a frigid female beating his ass. Professionally, they're in competition, taking jobs from each other, constantly trying to prove who is the better sword dancer. It's a match made in hate-to-love heaven.💯❤
"You are the fool, sword dancer! Does a man steal another man's kill? Does a man forbid another man to kill? Does a man protect another man when he's perfectly prepared and willing to handle the situation himself?'
'Aren't you forgetting something?' I threw back. 'You're not a man, Del. Quit trying to act like one.'
'Im just me!' she shouted. 'Just Del! Don't interfere simply because of my sex!"

“Turtles all the way Down” by John Green was one of those books I started reading, didn’t find interesting, put down but then picked back up to actually find out that I loved it 🐢🐢 .
Have you read it? I am not really a fan of John Green, only really like The Fault in our Stars, but TATWD fought its way into my heart, and there it is! It really got to me, because it’s about OCD, which my sister is sufflering from in a minder form, and it made me realise what might go through her head sometimes 💗
