2 funerals , 2 memorial services, 5 songs, 6 basketball practices , 2 Christmas programs, 1 husband, 3 children, 2 parents , 29 moving boxes unpacked , 1 pretty crappy 40th Birthday - all in the last 10 days. I woke up feeling pretty anxious and overwhelmed as I head into 3 - 6 day work weeks. I am tired. Nope. That’s not a big enough word. I’m worn. So - I pushed over the 2 bins of laundry, asked a friend if I could pay her $20 to wrap my children’s gifts, plugged in the tree, plopped on the couch , and decided I’m going to read and take a nap before work. I work with people and if I’m tired I can’t give them the positive energy + refreshment they’re looking for when they come into my place of employment. Can’t pour from an empty cup. Tell me, how do you rest + refill during this busy season?
