When we first visited Maui back in 2012, there were hardly any kombucha brands on the island. Today, there are four locally-produced brands, and plenty that come in from the mainland and surrounding islands. 👏 Including this beauty—appropriately named Big Island Booch—that hails from Hilo, HI. We've been digging their earthy, light flavors like this Benevolent Beet, which also contains carrot and ginger juice. ❤️ Like so many booch companies, this one started in a home kitchen 4 years ago, and has since grown into one of the state's most widely-distributed brands. Kombucha's growth on Hawaii is certainly no surprise, because with temperatures that hover around the high-70s, this is pretty much the ideal climate for brewing batches. 🌴☀️[Photographed at the incredible Black Sand Beach in Hana].
