When you get to Bonnaroo, it’s great to make friends with your neighbors ASAP. We made the mistake of forgetting the top to our pop-up canopy this year and the first two nights we got there, it was a torrential downpour. What are the chances that our neighbors were also from Kansas (15 minutes away from where we live)? We all grouped together our campsite and made a giant fort which withstood the storms.
In 2015, we made the mistake of being kind of recluses and not making friends with our neighbors until the end of the festival. The worst thing you can do is to be recluse-like. 2015 was a great year, but this year was the best yet, because it started with making friends to pass the time with, especially with us volunteering and being on the farm for 10 days. In 2015, time would move by super slow until the festival actually started and we had something to do. We were only there for 7 days, as we were during show setup in 2015. This year, days flew by. We spent hours on end playing flip cup, making a make-shift slip and slide during the storms, and making the best of our situation this year. If you ever go to a festival, SAY HI TO YOUR NEIGHBORS AND INTRODUCE YOURSELF. You’re inevitably going to be stuck with them for at least 4 days while you camp, so might as well make friends with those around! #bonnaroo #bonnaroo2017 #signtheduck #bonnaroomagic #musicfestival
