Today's short workout.

3 rounds for time. - 10reps dumbbell front rack walking lunges - 10reps BODYWEIGHT reverse lunges
- broad jump back to Dumbbells (less the better)
- 5reps Dumbbell front squats *Reps are fairly low so go heavy! Just ensure full range of motion and control throughout it.
I read today that a good way to increase/prepare the body for more load is through "safe reps" so try doing a couple of "safe" sets before your working sets... this may allow you the use more weight than previously, just make sure your confident with the extra load you add.
Finally don't forget to record your progress! Especially; - time
- weight

A lot of people want to get a muscle up or want to get better at doing them but rather than breaking down the movements and learning to move better or working on strict gymnastics to get stronger they just keep trying to get a MU and bad habits become ingrained. πŸ‘ŽπŸ½

Yes, I can do MUs but I know I need to get better at them as they are not pretty and I fatigue quickly (let's not mention my terrible dip 😳). Working on straight arm strength, core strength, eccentric movements and a tighter more efficient kip I can already feel my movement getting better but still a long way to go! --

DISNEY TREE OF LIFE: PUSH-UP FREESTYLE

Our last day of vacation was spent at the Disney Animal Kingdom Park and couldn't pass up a freestyle push-up set in front of this epic backdrop! Such a magical place this was and definitely many memories made with the family!

Anyone else been or plan on visiting? If so, the Kilimanjaro Safaris at the Animal Kingdom is a must!

Tips for a better and effective pull up. πŸ’ͺ

1. Stabilise and get comfortable as you hold the bar.

2. Maintain a Passive hang. This will stretch your lats and will become a starting position for the pull up.

3. Pull your shoulders down. This means to tighten and maintain necessary tension in your back (Posterior Chain).πŸ”₯

4. Pull yourself up by focusing on your lats rather than taking most of the help from your arms. Use minimum arm strength while pulling up. -
5. Keep your core engaged. This is what a lot of people ignore and they keep swinging back and forth throughout the movement. So make sure to avoid that by keeping your core tight. πŸ’ͺ

Staying consistent with basics is key. Here, some Lsits with unstable push up handles. Much greater stability and balance demands, but you have to mix things up to challenge yourself and make it more interesting

The ladies @k_beast928 @kimpoweredbody out hard repping the Go Infinite Tribe, they bring the πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯ everything. We just getting started here at the Bar Yard

This year the ladies of @go_infinite are gonna show up for @battle_of_the_bars. Me and @kimpoweredbody are a sick duo, love training sessions with this girl. We are always pushing one another past our comfort zones. Today's workout is a tough one!
A. (Video 1)
Kipping pull up 10 reps
Kipping TTB 10 reps
Pullovers 10 reps (L-sit optional)

X3 Rounds - 1 minute rest between rounds.

B. (Video 2)
Hollow body push up to active seal 10 reps
Bear crawl reaches to squat 5 reps

X3-5 Rounds - 30 second test between sets

Requirements + tips for A: 5 strict pull ups/ 5 strict TTB. If this can not be performed use this as your workout or message me for further regressions or progressions.
Keep legs straight and tight at al times and don't break in the hips while kipping, a good shoulder mob is strongly recommended pre workout.
Requirements + tips for B: Clean full R.O.M push ups, tracking knees in line with toes and keeping a neutral spine.
