A common client complaint I have been having recently is shoulder and neck pain (consistently or with surprise flare ups). When I am massaging clients, often they can highlight where it is they feel the underlying route of the problem - some say they can feel it in their neck or the tip of the shoulder. I do think that their are many contributing factors to this type of muscle tension like - • The amount or type of pillows you use
• Bad posture - Neck often bent down
•Lifting of items without bending knees & straightening back •Sleeping Positions
I advise clients to look at other parts of their lives contributing to the flare ups, although sometimes It can be due to an injury which mau require help with Pain medication. Many studies have shown the link between medical and physical treatment with the aid of Massage therapy. We ignore our body's natural alarm when it comes to persisting health issues and these can catch up to us later on in life.
Massage therapy can help repair and help decrease inflammation in various areas of the body and has been proven to increase quality of life.
