Here is are some things I used to think I could get away with. Once I cleaned up my lifestyle and stopped trying to cheat the science, everything fell into place.

Eat Whole Foods as much as possible. Fill up on your veggies. If you think it's your rice and potatoes are making you fat, you have more to learn than you know.
Being consistent is by far the number one rule to follow.
Remember, this is a life long activity. It's not for the summer or vacation. You may have your motivation to turn it up a notch but this is your health and your life. You only get one.

This is about as scandalous as it gets on this account folks. The scale is a nasty b*tch sometimes. Same weight in both. Left was what I used to refer to as my heaviest, but now I look at it as my before I weight lifted photo. I taught Zumba multiple times a week in that photo, ate around 1200 kcal and did a lot of cardio. Fast forward to now. Moderate weights in the gym, just started adding on cardio again and eating 800-1000 kcal more. Gaining muscle takes time. You have to eat to grow. Still a work in progress. Probably always will be, and I like it that way. It's not Tuesday but who cares #transformationtuesday #glutes

Ever feel stressed because the number on the scale is bigger than you want to see? A better indicator of your fitness is body fat than body weight. Today, I did a #bodypod scan at @ntxbodycomp and though I have done caliper readings and hydrostatic body fat reading in the past it's been over 6 years since I've had a reading. Well, you'd think I'd be smart enough to follow directions right??? Some of you have done the bodypod before and been alarmed at the high readings. Today my reading was higher than expected but I ran 6 miles (and of course, hydrated) just prior to testing and the main rules are to not eat, drink or exercise within 3 hours of testing. Something to do with the blood flow ... anyhow, I don't blame the tester I blame myself and I'm definitely not stressed about the reading. I plan to redo it in 2 weeks under the proper guidelines.
