S T R O N G • Vs • S K I N N Y by Katrina Wood "Was looking through my pictures, deleting a few when I came across this old pic of me before my pole comp.
Most people thought of me as being strong, but really I was just a light weight, "a good power to weight ratio" so to speak.
For as long as I can remember I've been reasonably lean and like most girls conscious of their weight thinking that was directly linked to being attractive. Yes I ate clean and exercised, but for me, I'd always wanted a slightly more athletic body, yet could never seem to build muscle with weight training.
While there is 2 years between these pic, there was only 18 months of weight training combined with nutritional cleansing...and I'm proudly much heavier these days.
The biggest challenge had been seeing the scales go up, but in the process has taught me about self worth and not to care about the number.
Even more powerful for me was realising in the fitness / body building world, the judges don't care what you weigh or what your body fat percent is. They look at your physical conditioning and your development.
How about we focus more on what you're physically able to do (or not be able to do) and how you are functioning day to day. That is where the real measure should be.
LASTLY...remember to check in to make sure you're surround by the right humans. The ones who won't judge you as a person based on how you look, but appreciate you for who you are. 😘 😉"
