clean and jerk progress??!
i added clean and jerks (for track? 🙃) to my training only once a week the beginning of january. however, a couple weeks until mid march, i didnt even practice the movement nor any other exercises that mimic the motion of a clean and jerk. 🍳🍳🍳🍳🍳🍳🍳🍳
since mid march, i switched over to diligently training to increase my clean and jerk as well as learning the snatch! i follow a 5 day split, testing every other week. i dont follow any specific periodization method, but rather i'll basically auto regulate, if that makes any sense. after micro managing for so long for track due to the new england weather and lack of facilities, it's finally nice to follow a structure that isnt so structured. so for example, i can usually walk up to the bar by now and tell if im experiencing any chronic fatigue that just requires some rest. without explaining in too much detail as it's kind of beyond the scope of this, i'll just basically try to increase weight in a reasonable manner mixing between linear and undulating periodization depending on the movement. then test week, i'll drop volume -for the most part- and just make sure i walk away from the sessions feeling good to test! 🍳🍳🍳🍳🍳🍳🍳🍳🍳
im very excited!! despite 100 pounds not being super heavy, im in the triple digits!!! 😂 my grip strengthh has increased. i had major issues hopping forward, catching on my toes (sprinting lol), and not getting under the bar for the first part of the movement. however, im slowing fixing that with technique work, and the fact that i managed a 10 pound PR from just my last test is ... (:
