#sammichlap #burbank #bobhopeairport #1970s #drawing #sketch #watercolor #illustration #traditional #painting Here's something different. My dad was a cabinet maker. During the '70's when I was a kid, I'd go and hang out with him which was very cool because one of his shops was just off the Tarmac over at the Bob Hope airport, inside one of the old Quonset hut style plane hangars! On the right side of this pic(sorry I cropped this one), up on a tall berm, were the main train tracks for the San Fernando valley, which ran along empire Ave. I'd hear the whistles and run outside to count those huge freight trains! I painted this a few years ago from memory, and added my own kids when they were little. No camera needed! There's my dads old Ford pickup truck. Great times!
