Hey guys, this is me. I wanted to say a quick hello to our new faces!
Welcome to Sarah Meagan Photography. Instagram is where I share my daily life and most recent work.
There is something completely humbling with sharing your art with the world. Not only am I incredibly lucky to have families allow me to capture their precious moments, but I get to use the moments as a creative outlet.
So here’s a few points I thought I would share about the process:
1️⃣ Trust your photographer. Your professional photos are an investment and not only do you have to resonate with their creative style, but you have to be ready to be intimate and vulnerable in front of them. Trust is important.
2️⃣ They know what they are doing. If you can afford it, please find someone other than ‘a friend with a camera’. In this digital age we have become careless with the easy access of imagery. I am a firm believer in making space for good quality experiences and photos. Yes access to quality camera gear is available to everyone, but they are professionals for a reason.
3️⃣ Bring your heart and soul to the table. You get out of your experience what you put in to it. This statement goes for both the photographer and the client. My best work comes from undivided attention to the process. The more prepared everyone is, the better the end result. An experienced photographer will walk you through the entire process to ensure a great end result.
4️⃣ We all learn and grow. Have you ever looked at your fashion style from 10 years ago? 🤦🏻♀️ My work has changed so much, and it is all for the better. Change is a good thing, it means we are learning and evolving. We become experts in our field and that’s what makes us valuable.
5️⃣ There is a photographer out there for everyone. No matter your needs or budget, there is a right fit for you. I will be first to say that my work and shooting style is not for everyone and that’s ok. We all have our favourite hairstylist, accountant and bakery. Photography is no different. ....continued in comments. 📸 @makifotos
