Well, that was NOT how I intended to start my weekend... 😿😿 One of the cats vomited last night and we noticed something in it. Then Ava realized she had had a flower in her room and we figured out that was what was in the vomit. She had asked me if she could put a flower from the garden in her room and I didn’t even clue in that it was a type of lily 😳... and lilies are extremely toxic to cats 🙀
Long story short, we rushed BOTH cats off to the emergency vet because we weren’t sure which one had eaten it.
If I was a betting woman, I would have placed all odds on Ms Daphne... cuz Mr Charles rarely ever moves enough to get into anything 😽 But just to be sure, we got bloodwork done on both and yep... it was obvious who the culprit was.... Ms Daphne 🐈
So after a long haul at the vet, after midnight, Charlie came back home with us and Daphne is in the hospital for 2-3 days on IV fluids 💉💊 They will redo her bloodwork again in 48 hours and see the levels. Please please send us all your positive vibes that our little miss hasn’t done too much damage to her kidneys ❤️ I am ABSOLUTELY kicking myself and so is Ava. New house rule. No more flowers in the house EVER.
I am just thankful that we realized what she got into and got her there quickly (because other than the one vomit she was showing NO signs of anything being awry). The emergency vet hospital here is AMAZING and I am so thankful for their kindness and attentive care ❤️ Everyone that worked with us last night was so kind and loving to both our babes and I have no doubt Ms Daphne 🐈 is being well cared for as they were all in love with her.
And with that, we’re off to visit her soon!
Please send good vibes though 💗
