The Dodgers win the series behind a solid pitching performance from Caleb Ferguson and Matt Kemp’s Grand Slam! Clayton Kershaw started this game, which was pretty much his rehab start, so he went about it like a rehab start. For the most part, he looked good despite having some expected rust. His final line: 3 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 1 BB, 4 SO. Max Muncy continues to have the best year of his career as he got the Dodgers on the board early by hitting a Solo HR (14) off deGrom in the 1st! With the Dodgers down 2-1 in the 4th, Chris Taylor came on to pinch hit with runners on 1st and 2nd and hit a 2-Run double to put the Dodgers up 3-2! It stayed a close game until the 8th inning when the Dodgers scored 5 runs! The first one was scored by a well executed squeeze play by Kiké and the Dodgers (I know, shocker) to score Bellinger from 3rd! I don’t think I’ve seen the Dodgers do that this season, which I loved to see. The game was put out of reach when Matt Kemp came up to pinch hit with the bases loaded and simply hit a Grand Slam to make it 8-2 Dodgers! Despite Matt Kemp’s Grand Slam, the Dodgers had another player have a great performance in Caleb Ferguson! Ferguson went 4-shutout innings while striking out 6! Great performance by him! The Dodgers will be going for the sweep behind Rich Hill tomorrow!
