Blue on blue and colonial simplicity at the Hall House in Guilford. The Halls trace their American arrival to ancestors William and Esther Hall from Rolvenden, Kent, England. They were among the first European settlers here. William bought the land in 1654 and it passed through the generations until this home was built for Eliphalet Hall, III, and his wife, Rachel Evarts Hall sometime around 1793. The couple had no known children and when Eliphalet died in 1803, the probate court valued the home at $457. The windowed gable is likely a later addition to this 18th century home.
