Spring is here and flowers 🌸 are in bloom! Today I found myself distracted; gazing out the window enjoying the flowers in bloom. I reflected on what Spring means to me. 💐 Spring is about new beginnings. I you’re not happy where you’re at, it’s never too late to change the trajectory of your life. Bloom baby bloom! #springblooms
“In nature there’s no blemish but the mind; none can be called deformed but the unkind.” - William Shakespeare . Happy birthday to the man who helped me fall in love with poetry, who taught me that seemingly contradictory emotions and motivations can co-exist within one person, and made me wish I had a twin brother. . #shakespearesbirthday#shakespeare
“There is no glory in star or blossom till looked upon with a loving eye; there is no fragrance in April breezes till breathed with joy as they wander by.” William C. Bryant 🌸💕 . . . The blossom has just burst into bloom here in Edinburgh over the weekend and it fills me with such joy! . . . Some snaps from my latest blogpost, all about my Spring uniform. I’ve always been a crafty girl, I grew up when shrinky dinks and puff paint were all the rage. Anyone else? 🙋🏻♀️ These days I like to stick to crafts that are both useful and beautiful. I picked up needle felting a few years ago and George is always flipping through our felting book asking me to make him new little creations. It makes me happy to see him play with the things my own two hands have made. What crafting hobbies do you enjoy?
Diving right back into my nature inspired pieces right after I get all the packaging and shipping complete from the flash sale yesterday! Crossing my fingers my canvas orders came in 🤞 Hope you are crushing this Monday 😚
What is it you're searching for beyond the trees, beyond the mist, sweet soul? 🌲 I find myself striving for life with substantive meaning. Sometimes it feels like I have so much to give and no where to put it. And then I look at the people who are precious to me and I remember. I'm striving, seeking, trying to be better for them. And I will. Who are you thinking of when you read this, lovely? 🌲
Is there anything more blissful than the house falling silent after a day full of tears and tantrums (both my own and the kids’ 🙈)? . I’m not convinced there is. . As soon as I’m doubly certain they’re sound asleep, I’ll be up those stairs, running a bath and throwing in my finest bath bomb after it. . And breathe. . How were your Mondays? I hope they were less Mondayish than my own!
I think this tulip (from last week) has just got in touch with her extrovert side...
So it’s been over two weeks since I last posted on this little app 🙈 In that time I’ve somehow managed to get a few new Insta friends (hello👋), so I figured I’d take a second to introduce myself. I’m Charlotte and at the end of last year I moved to Mid Wales with my husband @nativeboards We’re currently house sitting as we look for a piece of land to buy, so we can (hopefully🤞🏼) self build through a scheme called the One Planet Development. For any fellow Grand Designs addicts you might remember this scheme from the Hobbit house eco village episode. Essentially, the OPD is a Welsh planning framework that enables you to build an eco home if you can prove that you can become 65% self sufficient, and lower your carbon footprint to half the national average, within 5 years of moving onto your land. When I’m not scouring the internet for plots of land and reading planning applications. I photograph weddings, nurture seedlings and get out into the countryside with our little Shih Tzu, Cookie, as much as possible.
