This is an image of a partial lunar eclipse (the moon goes behind the Earth relative to the sun, so Earth blocks the light to the moon) in 2015 that occurred right after moonrise. This was shot from Mt Soledad in La Jolla where I got to meet @rubensevilla and use his 200mm lens. Cheers Ruben! Heading to Oregon later this month for a total solar eclipse (where the moon travels directly between the Sun and the Earth, turning day into night and triggering all kinds of cool optical phenomena).
