💥HOW TO STOP BLOATING💥

🐿I'm certainly not the greatest wizard to ever live but I do like to think I've learned, at least, a thing or two in my time as a coach. And one of those things is how to reduce (or stop) bloating.

🌮Worth noting, there are mannnyyyyyyyyyyyy possible reasons for why you may be getting bloated. And it's impossible for me to tell you what, exactly, is causing it. And for that reason, if you find yourself chronically bloated, you 100% should speak to your doctor (and I encourage you to ask them about IBS and to check for any food intolerances because those are common culprits).

🍪Anyhoodle, visit to Madam Pomfrey aside, first thing I'd say is quit eating raw veggies and start cooking them. Along those lines, it's smart to reduce (or eliminate) cruciferous veggies because, if you're prone to bloating, they can wreak havoc on your stomach. If you don't know what "cruciferous vegetables" are, you can type those 2 words right into the Google machine and it will tell you, literally, everything you could ever want to know.

🏓 Sipping hot water and/or tea is another of my favorite charms that works *really* well. I'm not 100% sure why but, if I had to guess, it makes it easier for the food to be broken down and digested without getting "stuck" and sitting there.

🥁As for the rest, eating smaller/more frequent meals can help with digestion. Probiotics & digestive enzymes get solid reviews but don't work for everyone or everything. Sugar alcohols affect everyone differently but, for what it's worth, I've seen them cause a metric eff ton of bloating in *a lot* of people (myself included) so just be aware. And when in doubt, going on a light walk or bike or doing any low intensity cardio can work wonders in reducing the bloat.

1️⃣ If you're bothered by tummy symptoms in most cases diet can help BUT ruling out organic disease is a crucial first step eg. Coeliac and inflammatory bowel disease- visit your GP first!

honest honest moment this was my first meal of the day - around 4:30 this afternoon, not because I wanted to restrict or not eat but because my gut felt super off from yesterday till this afternoon and I just couldn’t eat. I went to shape house this morning (for a far infrared sweat) and drank lots of water but was just feeling totally weighed down and off still. My gut issues are bloating and distention and I just didn’t feel like I was digesting my lunch or dinner from yesterday. Things feel...sluggish. Ugh, real life over here!! the past few days all i’ve been doing is lying in bed and watching movie after show after movie (Wonder Woman and Hacksaw Ridge have been the best pick for anyone curious) and all the while i couldn’t not shake a feeling of complete guilt....guilt for doing absolutely NOTHING. “should i at least read?” yet all my sick body really wanted to do was lie there. well guilt built up quickly. and with all this free time i realized how many areas of my life i let Guilt take hold of....

guilty im trying too hard and that i should be more relaxed
guilty to have to say “no” because i was in pain
guilty for saying “yes” to things in my past
guilty im not more of the student, daughter, sister, friend that i should be.

guilty im feeling sad
guilty im happy and others in the world are sad.
guilty for what I don’t do
and guilty for all the blessings i have.

well guilt has no limits to what it will attack, but i’m finally figuring out that listening to a Guilt Podcast on repeat will only keep me stuck in a negative energy. Because while i’m busy feeling guilty, there is no room to be grateful. instead of feeling guilty for being sick, im grateful to have a bed and movies to watch. .

don’t get me wrong...guilt does have its time and place (such as lying, stealing, etc.) but do NOT let it unrightfully judge you in areas of your life that you’re trying your best.

if chronic guilt weighs heavily on you, i hope you find encouragement in knowing that you deserve to accept yourself right now, exactly where you are at today. sure there is a “better” version of yourself out there that you hope to become, but that doesn’t mean you have to feel so gosh darn guilty about where you are at today. so as i lie here in bed, about to watch yet another movie, instead of choosing to feel guilty (because it is a CHOICE), im feeling excited instead. excited to watch Star Wars and for the flu 2 go away

I outlined where all this bloated, pressure pain is, and I keep getting stabbing pains. I don't know if this is my bowels or my bladder that hurts. I have been excessively gassy lately and it smells really bad. My output is either liquid or clumpy liquid. Seriously on the smell, ew. The x-ray at the ER sat didn't show a blockage or anything so I don't know what's going on. There is apparently air in my colon which doesn't make sense and stuck in my small bowel but I don't know why. I'm over the pain, kids. I don't appear to have a fever, but even when I am sick I don't get a fever. I don't know. I want help but the ER won't do that. Waiting for my neurologist to call back still. I feel like garbage. I've almost fainted twice today already. I feel like I'm over heating.

Bloated vs the morning after!
Two days ago I was so bloated but my body bounced back the morning after. It's amazing what the body can do! Usually I don't post photos when I'm bloated but decided to do so anyway. Cause I feel like it's important for people to know that bodies don't look the same throughout the entire day and it's completly normal. Because I definitely do not look like the second photo all day long.. and that's alright, we need to start liking our bodies as they are not how we wish them to be! On another note did week 7 arms + abs this morning and as usual I had to rush out when I was done 👊

Cramps.

I hate them. Every month they plague me, and not just for 1 day either. They have definitely decreased since I began taking supplements (Lifelong Vitality Pack) and balancing my hormones but when they are coming on strong, I turn to my two friends ClaryCalm and PastTense. Why do they work?

🌿 ClaryCalm has geranium and clary sage oils to help balance our hormones, bergamot and lavender to being our emotions into clearer focus and decrease irritability, fennel to help decrease bloating, and Roman chamomile and ylang ylang which are “chill-out” oils for relaxation and comfort. 🌿 PastTense was formulated for tension, but cramps make me tense and so I love using it on my abdomen when they’re terrible. It’s super cooling and fresh and contains wintergreen for that gently tingly sensation, marjoram which is known to help with cramps, rosemary, cilantro, basil and peppermint to bring an herbaceous grounded feeling of relaxation to your day.

BLOATING!!! Argghhh who can relate?!!! I know I’ve certainly experienced my fair share of bloating due to several food intolerances and my IBD. But there are things you can do to eliminate or at least reduce bloating. . . .

💥Bloating is darn right uncomfortable & is normally the cause of excess gas & or a disturbance in the movement of the muscles of the digestive system.

🦉All of this can lead to you crying out “ I’m having a food baby” if you’ve not heard that before I’m sure you know what I mean, it’s that stuffed feeling!

😍 It’s a very common condition & although it can be down to a medical condition, it quite often comes down to something in your diet. So let’s have a look at things that could help you out. This list is not fully inclusive & may not work for everyone.

👱🏻‍♀️If you eat large then give a reduction in portion size a try. Generally people who experience bloating have an increased sensitivity to food in the stomach, so less food means less food in the stomach & therefore less bloating. If you don’t want to reduce the portion size then try chewing more which naturally tends to lead to a reduced intake.

😆Paying attention to what you’ve eaten & bouts of bloating can give an indication of foods that aren’t your friends. Common ones would be lactose, fructose, wheat, gluten & eggs.

🍑There are 2 sources of gas in the digestive system ,one produced by the bacteria of the gut & the other is the air or gas that you swallow whilst eating & drinking- bubbly drinks would be one of the main offenders!

🤩Sugar alcohols found in sugar free foods & chewing gums. If you’ve heard of the elimination diet (FODMAP) these are on there & actually a surprise to many. “So spit dat gum out”

😍Try digestive enzymes. They are available over the counter & they basically break down certain food components. Probiotics can help improve gut bacteria which for many well help to reduce gas & bloating. Can take a while to work so you need to be patient & may not work for all.

My biggest lesson as 2018 comes to a close is...If you’re not your biggest cheerleader, no one else can be. You have to believe in yourself, your dreams, and your intentions more than anyone you share them with!

I’m open, that through the process of being sick I lost 90% of my friends and people I associated with. Guess what? I’m so so content with that (for the first time in my life) because I could care less what people say about my goals, dreams and ambitions. I would rather spend time alone than with people who joke about my dreams being too big, x, y, z.

Once you’re really dang ok with being alone and being your biggest cheerleader, than and only than can you find and attract other like minded people #2018goal.
