Nasty Women Portraits presents Rosie!
I’m so thrilled to be part of this wonderful project and series of portraits. Especially as a representative of a group that feminism largely left behind. Which is exactly why I jumped at the chance to participate in this series. I did it as a reminder that feminism is for me, for black women, fat women, queer and trans women, disabled women, ALL WOMEN. We need and deserve to see ourselves and representatives of our causes included in art, action, conversations, and all things rooted in feminism. This is a Rosie I can get behind! I love the work that Nasty Woman Portraits is doing and will be attending their upcoming event and fundraiser and if you’re in LA you should come too!
Nasty Women Portraits (NWP) events are casual-cool parties with professional-quality photo opps and socially empowering installations, that raise money for causes we care about. Their next event, ROSIE, is happening Friday, Nov 30 from 7-10pm at The Hi Hat in Highland Park! All ticket and donation-based bar proceeds go toward the LA LGBT Center and the Transgender Economic Empowerment Program.
