This man right here y'all!?! This man is the ORIGINAL "Black Man With a Gun"
When I first started my YouTube videos, I created a segment call BM-WAG. It stood for "black man with a gun". Unbeknownst to me, he already had this name trademarked. Through whatever bat-channels, he found a way to contact me. He told me that someone brought it to his attention that I was using his moniker.

I immediately became apologetic, as this was an unintentional doing. I told him that I wouldn't use the name anymore and how sorry I was for using it. But instead of requesting me to "cease and desist", he said to me,
"No young brother, I'd be honored if you use it".
Those words still resonate with me today; reminders of the kindness and generosity that this man has extended time after time. Everytime we meet, he has something positive to say and is always moving forward on his journey through the 2A world. He is an accomplished author and Reverend. He helped to pave the way for ALL Black Americans to start their own 2A journey.
I can remember seeing him on @CamEdwards show my first time at the NRA convention as a YouTuber. I caught Cam walking into the NRA studio on the showroom floor. I shook his hand and told him I was a fan of his. He asked me where I was from and we briefly spoke about Sheriff David Clarke. I then looked up. On stage I saw this dapper and debonair black man sitting in the interviewee spot. I was so intrigued that I stuck around for the interview. I was blown away.

Ladies and gentlemen take your time and find this man's podcast, which is one of the longest running podcasts, and website. He spends his energy in promoting the rest of US as examples of what we want our community to look like. He is truly a selfless individual and gives his all to those he comes in contact with. I feel bad that I have neglected our relationship and not communicated with him in the manner in which he so deserves. However, I am happy to say I am in the process of fixing that and yet again he has agreed to give of himself. I'm proud to announce that Rev. Kenn Blanchard is now #TeamBlackOPS!

I think this has to be one of the most profound statements in and of itself, that I have seen in a long time. Let's break this down. The homie @majtoure has done what many thought was impossible, impractical, irresponsible and many even thought it to be immoral.
But these Philadelphia inner-city public school children were tought basic handgun and safety skills in school. Yes. I said it. IN SCHOOL! IN A PUBLIC SCHOOL!
As an educator, 2A supporter and father, I am absolutely blown away and in awe of such an heroic feat. Guns have been so taboo for years in the inner workings of the Black community and in public school systems across the country.

Lets "keep it 100" for a sec. It's no secret across America that there are guns in the hood. Yes, some of them illegal. We get it. There is nothing that can really be done to rid the country of illegal guns as a whole. But that doesn't mean that the necessary information should remain hidden from the people that need proper gun education the most. The fact that these children are receiving information that makes them aware of how to handle and be safe around guns is CRUCIAL! Demystifying the gun and making it what it actually is, a tool, will save so many children from becoming victims of self-inflicted and accidental firearms related incidents. They now have the knowledge to share with others the respectful and safe admiration of firearms, but now with a more accurate knowledge base and legal platform from which to do so. Keyword being LEGAL. This will help to create a new generation of responsible young Black gun owners in America.

Check out the @officialblackgunsmatter or @majtoure page to see more. Look at the children's faces. They are excited to show their new skills. As an educator I can tell you that this is what learning looks like.

This is why WE do what WE do.
This is what WORK looks like.
This is what LEARNING LOOKS LIKE!
This is what WE REALLY look like.
Let that sink in for a bit.

Two things I'm really excited about this fine Saturday. The VP9SK and "The Santa Shooter". I can't wait to read this book from my brother @marcusallenweldon. I always want to put a "Sir" in front of his name.
It just fits right? "Sir Marcus Allen Weldon"
Read the story of a legally armed citizen whose rights were ignored when he defended himself legally. He was charged with 7 felonies including attempted murder, faced 30 years in prison and just when you think it couldn't get any worse.... What? Go buy the book if you want to find out how it ends! This book is a MUST READ for all 2A advocates and supporters.
