I love this Pusha T. album, it’s phenomenal work.
But I’m personally at a point in my maturation as a Man and a evolution as person where THE PLIGHT of MY people means more to me than any beat, any verse, any marketing plan, any video, any album.
And I’m not sorry for feeling that way. To ignorantly & cavalierly state that “Slavery SOUNDED like a choice” CANNOT be atoned for, to me, in the timespan of a Rap Album.
I HAVE a million Rap albums I can listen too.
But I DON’T Fuck with Mr. West for saying that dumb shit, ON his MEDS or not.
It’s completely hypocritical for us as a community to get up in arms over Trump saying all the wild shit HE says and get mad when HIS constituency DOESN’T hold him accountable FOR it, and NOT do the same for #kanye. If we allow THAT statement about the BIGGEST CRIME AGAINT HUMANITY GO UNCHECKED...we’re MORE lost than he is.
F’k that, if we let that slide we love this music and all the bs that comes with it MORE than we do OURSELVES.
My Pops ain’t raise me to THINK like that.
And as much as I disagreed w/ a lot of ‘PAC’s philosophy, I know in my heart we’d be in agreement on this one.
Kanye to me, is like R. Kelly to Spotify.
It’s a blackout.
And some might read this and say “It’s NOT that deep.” And to them I say you’re right, MUSICALLY it’s not, but from a Human standpoint, it UNDOUBTEDLY is.
Sometimes we NEED to STAND for something.
Phenomenal album, Push. And welcome back, Kanye “your” beats are 🔥but nah bruh, I’m Good. *end of rant* No “Likes” required. •
