I photographed Tony pretty often. He was the best kind of friend. The friend who didn't question early morning trips out of the house in the cold wearing yellow because I asked, BBQing in the backyard when I needed a quick extra feature photo for the paper, or just ignoring me when I'd snap away in the house. I wasn't fond of staged, formal portraits but this was one I wanted to make in a place I wanted to make one. Tony obliged and I always felt like it was the Tony I knew.
Tony was an artist I admired. In my opinion he created the best images and scenes I saw in my college years. Tony used words instead of a camera and his writing always amazed and inspired me.
Sold off the CL and bought an M3. I preferred the simplicity of the M3 over the many innovations of the CL. Plus my favorite focal length is the 50 (nothing beats the viewfinder of the m3 Other than Voigtländer’s R3) - Leica M3 Jupiter 8 50mm f2 Kodak TriX Developed in Hc110 - #deathb4digital
