This was Tweak's week!
Tweak came to Purrfect Pals in February when her lifelong owners of ten years had to move cross country and couldn't take her along. She arrived already on a prescription diet for urinary crystals/stones.
Erin was at Woodinville Petsmart yesterday to buy food for her fish when she walked by the adoption room window and was captivated by Tweak's eyes. Then our volunteer told her to come in and Erin and Tweak fell in love. After sending her husband Robert multiple pictures, he was primed to fall in love when they both came back this morning. Tweak knew exactly what she needed to do and it took about 2 seconds for Robert to be ready to take her home. They lost the last of their very senior cats one year ago and felt they were ready for another older cat. They already have 2 old chickens and a tank of tiny fish. To help her feel at home immediately, we sent Tweak's litter box, red bed with the pillows inside, two of her favorite toys and enough prescription food for several days. The plan is to keep Tweak in a separate bathroom for a few days, after which she will be free to walk around the house, do whatever she wants (or nothing), watch the chickens, birds and the fish, which is pretty much a perfect life for our sweet older lady. Robert works from home most of the time and Tweak will be a a great companion in his workshop. Erin works in downtown Seattle and has evenings and weekends free. We think this is the absolute best possible happy new beginning for Tweak. Hip, Hip, Hooray! (2nd Picture: It looks like she is already enjoying her new life... and does not miss the adoption room. Mom says, "This is our afternoon nap together - watching birds & our garden...she ate, drank & used the litter box the first hour. Now happy purrs 🐾 life is grand for us both!")
