Kendrick hasn't always been the best preformer. If you look at older videos of him performing his breath control was kind of awful. He relied a bit too much on the audience to finish lines.
With that said though, I wasn't going to miss this tour. Kendrick and Travis are two of my favorite current artists and they are two completely different types of preformers.
Kendrick tried his best to make this a hip hop arena show. Featuring a moving backdrop, dancing ninjas, etc. For the most part it worked really well. From where I was sitting the screen behind Kendrick somewhat obstructed my view, but when he began performing in the middle of the arena, I had a great view.
Setlist wise he preformed almost everything off of DAMN. That I wanted with the exception of Duckworth. The structuring could use a bit of work. I really wanted to hear some Section.80 tracks. Especially since he kept asking the crowd "Who's been here since the beginning?" then he'd drop a track off GKMC. I would've killed to hear ADHD, Rigamortis, or HiiPower.
I was mostly there to hear TPAB songs. King Kunta may have been my favorite track of the night. His energy performing it was great! Another highlight was definitely Money Trees, although it's just not the same without the Jay Rock verse.
While Im dissappointed he didnt do a tpab tour, im glad he took the time off. He played a lot of fests within that time and learned to work a larger crowd. He has improved a lot since 2012-2013, and I think his next tour is going to be even better than this.
