WEIGHTED BASEBALL BAT WORKOUT

I miss playing baseball, and I remember back then using donut bat weights during warmup to help increase bat speed at the plate.

I took the same approach to
target the following areas:
.
1. Grip Strength
2. Forearms
3. Lats
4. Shoulders and Wrists Mobility
5. Core
.
Set 1: No weights
Set 2: 5-lb kettle bell
Set 3: (2) 5-lb kettle bells
(Repeat Sets 1-3 for 3-5 continuous cycles)

I did this bat workout 4 days ago and still feeling all kinds of new soreness that has my body all confused! .

As a child my mom and dad always called me little monkey, because I was climbing up and over anything I could get a good grip and footing on.
.
Almost 30 years later, I found myself being that little kid again during my family vacation at Disney. My oldest son, Mason, remembered the stories I told him about me when I was his age climbing tall trees, basketball goals, the sides of apartment complexes and houses, and rock piles. .
So, when Mason saw the rock wall he asked me if I thought I could climb around it; and right away I jumped on and went at it. I must've tried around 10 times figuring it out.
.
Although I was only 1-3 feet off the ground, the same principles applied with regards to grip, footing, and strategy. This was FUN practice, and now I hope I have an opportunity to do this for real!

Last Sunday I wanted to test my strength reserves after having completed a 2,000 reps routine (1,000 push-ups and 1,000 dips) as seen done by my dude @wolf_vision --- this was a quick #barcomplex workout finisher going for max reps right after the routine with muscles at full fatigue. All I can say is that #repsandsets done right will result in serious gains👌

I planned on going to the gym today, but that didn't quite workout. So, rather than call it a rest day I created a routine to strengthen my mindset as well as my pull strength focusing on low reps and ultra high sets. .
.
I didn't set a time limit as I did it throughout the evening balancing Daddy duties, Husband honey-do lists, and watching Netflix.
.
.
All I can say is that gains can be made at home with the right ingredients. Remember, #calisthenicstraining is versatile and flexible. Make it work to fit your schedule, wherever, whenever, just make it happen! Although it's ideal to get all your training done in one sitting, sometimes you just have to break it up and spread it out! Reps are reps, and anyway you put it, they add up! Do what you gotta do however you gotta do it...just get it done! .
.
Below is an outline of how my reps and sets were completed just to give you an example of how I spread it out while multitasking other responsibilities at home. Stay strong my friends!

Saw DOC @docteamwingate post up a nice routine of 45-lb weighted isometrics head Below Bar for max hold + 50 bw push-ups (repeat) --- I was inspired to try it out but ended up keeping the weight on and did dips instead. Gotta long ways to go on increasing strength and endurance on the weighted calisthenics but this is a good start for me. 3 sets: 20 sec 45-lb ISO hold + 15 45-lbs weighted dips 🎥2nd set - clip short to fit IG🎥
