PRESSED FOR TIME?
I could see that this week was going to one where I was going to be very pressed for time. You must sometimes change your training regimen a little for a week or two when time is scarce. Thus, I just finished my second of two workouts that I scheduled for myself this week. This is the routine I used:
MONDAY
1. Bench press from bottom position in power rack 5x5, 5x1
2. Squat from bottom position in power rack
5x5, 5x1
FRIDAY
1. Military press 5x5, 5x1
2. Trap bar deadlift 5x5, 5x1
It looks easy, but it’s not! ( especially the Monday routine with the bottom position bench presses and squats). Most of the major muscle groups in the body get hit to varying degrees, and the natural testosterone production that these exercises produce is significant. Next week I will be back to my regular training routine where I work out on more days and perform more exercises with less sets per exercise. But I kind of enjoyed knowing I had only two exercises to GO ALL OUT ON, despite doing a lot of sets of each. It really narrowed my mental focus. Keep the above routine in mind when you know you will only have a couple of days in which you can train on a particular week. Do what you have to do to STAY IN THE GAME!
