I recognize people in the ED community have struggles. I recognize those stories need to be told. I recognize that fat IS a feeling, as we are all aware of the physical space we occupy. I recognize that the ED community matters and that Body Positivity is FOR every body. .
But thin cishet able bodied young white women can not intrude on safe spaces for Fat Women. They can not co-opt a movement about fat acceptance. They cannot repackage the movement by whitewashing it, hetero-normalizing it, and by trimming the fat. They don't get to turn BoPo into things it's not about (mental illness, acne, body hair, crooked teeth, and crusty toes). They don't get to invent ways in which they are marginalized in order to compete, when this is a safe space for women to support one another. They don't get to turn a movement about visual representation for marginalized BODIES, into hierarchies that are identical to mainstream media and beauty standards. .
So yes, I acknowledge your struggles and Individual hardships, but I won't validate the expression thereof. But I will not stand for fat phobic micro aggressions against my Fat Sisters. I will not stand for my Disabled and Trans Sisters to be forced into invisibility. I will not stand for my Nonwhite Sisters to remain as tokens and accessories, but never the main feature. If you're angered by the ways in which people fight to hold their safe spaces, I implore you to unpack the thin white privilege of feeling you have a right to colonize ALL SPACES.
