Day 5, A New Strength // “'My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” (2 Corinthians 12:9-10)
I am humbled and convicted by today's devotion in Seasons - here's an excerpt of it...but man, it doesn't do it justice: "But what would this season - this day - be like if we owned our weaknesses the moment they surfaced? Regardless of how “new” our season is, what if we voiced our need for help, assistance, or accountability right at the start?
With any new level of responsibility comes the need for a greater awareness of our heart’s capacity to give into temptation, lust, pride, deceit, and anger. We all can fall prey to sin.
But if we are to be strong, then we must realize our weaknesses. And if we are to maintain our integrity, then we are to surround ourselves with trusted people whom we can “boast” those shortcomings to.
Ask yourself: "What does it mean for me to be weak today?” Feel free to let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
