Some thoughts about the "Me, too" movement.
Male survivors of sexual assault are out there, and they matter. I think now is a great time to really push forward and work for recognition for them. Still, the "me, too" movement is trying to bring attention to the male entitlement and abuse of power that results in violence against women. It's discussing misogyny. Sexual assault against males is just as serious of an issue, but it's a separate discussion because it isn't a direct result of misogyny. Instead of speaking over women, even with the best intent, men should start a movement of their own. I know I'd support the hell out of it.
And anybody who uses male survivors of assault just as pawns to silence women and claim there isn't an issue is disgusting. Just throwing that out there.
