AHAs (Alpha Hydroxy Acids) & BHAs (Beta Hydroxy Acids) are exfoliants that loosen and "unglue" the bonds holding on to dull, dead skin cells.
AHAs generally work for sun-damaged skin and is highly effective in enhancing the skin's NMF (Natural Moisturising Factor) within the skin. Examples: Glycolic Acid, Lactic Acid, Citric Acid, Mandelic Acid
BHAs are recommended for normal to oily skin prone to bumps, clogs and blackheads. BHAs also contain natural skin-calming properties so it's gentle enough for sensitive skin! BHA is commonly known as Salicylic Acid.
Together, these exfoliants can firm, hydrate and brighten the skin.
Which would you choose for your skin? AHA, BHA, or both?
