Little less than 3 weeks into the quest for a #60secondhandstand and I'm hovering around a consistent ~30 seconder. If I am being strict with straight leg to straight leg- no momentum loss... this one is 29 seconds. (My legs got cut off in this format)
Gotta give the bro @trottingsparrow the go ahead for his birthday as he achieved his longest ever at a strictly measured 30 seconds on the eve if his 30th year around the Sun. Feels good to have an #accountabilibuddy to inspire some motivation.
Handstands are intriguing in that they are a solid measuring stick of current capacity, and that they literally change the way you in interact with the world. I spend very little of my time actually training upside-down, but rather cultivating a relationship with my body that allows me to trust myself when it happens.
Grateful to be feeling as capable and present as ever in my human form in the middle of Winter. Excited to see this momentum carry as the days get longer.
Gotta shout out some gratitude to the @rasayogatribe, @greta_hill, @siannasherman, @gabriel.juzon, @balayoga, @hybridmovementpractice, @andrewkellyragan, @wilderness_awareness and countless others for the community that is unfolding around an authentic relationship to these spirit vessel action figures we call our bodies. "What are we to do with our one wild and precious life?" asks Mary Oliver... well I'm sure as hell going to explore where my shadows and edges lie, so I can have more room to roam and play in the light of life. Welcoming the quake of discomfort and the growth that unfolds when we are willing to ask the deeper questions. The answers often are awkward to interpret or understand, if they are even spoken in our native language at all. The world speaks in waves and particles pulsing in and out of existence, if only our perceptions are tuned to listen.
