Happy weekend! So, today I'm working on an assignment for a photography mentorship program that I am attending in Maui in February that requires submission of three sets of images--those that 1) make me proud 2) humble me 3) inspire me. I love exercises like this that make you reflect and examine while also helping you realize how your style has evolved.
While going through my archives, I came upon this sunset image from Prague taken from the rooftop of our hotel with my Canon 800IS point and shoot. This image has no post-processing, which shows you just how amazing the sky was that night. In my Photo Tips blog post this week, I shared the adage "the obstacle is your opportunity". After Jason was stuck on a conference call for hours, I was annoyed that we didn't make it to the Charles Bridge for sunset. Instead, we opted for our hotel rooftop. And, THIS is the INCREDIBLE view and sky awaiting us.
It actually was also probably for the best as a crazy turn of events led to Jason breaking his foot and me breaking my toe on two different continents within two hours of one another three days before! Jason's was the result of a stress fracture 5 miles into a 20 mile training run. And, mine was the result of having taken Ambien and jamming my foot under my bag on the floor when I got up in the middle of the night. Neither of our breaks were confirmed until we returned to the US a week later! As a result, we were both hobbling around in horrible pain, having to sit on benches every few hundred feet. We really should have bought a lottery ticket as the odds of that are insane.
