Practice everything, with purpose. Practice makes permanent.
Sleeping eating and breathing...
Seems like we should be pretty good at these things as much as we do them.
Between heart disease (633,842) and chronic lower respiratory disease (155,041) over 3/4 of a million people die each year (yeah I know genetics plays a role here). On top of that the CDC estimates that between 50 and 70 million people have a sleep wakefulness disorder. Which will further complicate nearly every pathology you could have.
It just goes to show just doing something doesn't make you proficient. Action void of intent rarely yields positive results. Practice never has and never will make perfect but it will make permanent.
A complete lack of mastery over the most basic aspects of human life is killing us way faster than terrorism, illegal drugs, and crappy politicians. ---
Here's some perspective for you 2,161 people will die today (90 during your hour lunch break) in the US from complications from those two things, 2,996 people died on 9/11. ---
This isn't meant to be a downer. On the contrary, this means that you have the ability to control what is most likely going to kill you.
