Last night, Our dog,”Benji” unfortunately passed away.
Benji had genetic heart failure so it was no surprise he died, but the vet said at least another year (A few weeks ago)
We were driving in Tennessee from Kentucky coming home to Florida when he started breathing weird.
Normally Benji would cough for a couple minutes. But this was different. He was wheezing and panting fast and coughing at the same time.
(Please note before you say anything that the dog pictured is Benji alive. I wouldn’t upload a deceased photo of my dog)
It was late at night and no veterinarians where open. And there were no 24 hr vets. And our vet in Florida was closed as well.
We drove to the fire department to give him oxygen. We were having a difficult time finding it so we asked policemen and they guided us.
Right before we pulled up to the fire department, my grandma screamed as he stopped breathing in her arms.
The firemen still tried giving him oxygen but it was no use.
And before you say anything ignorant with knowing how upset I am going to be while coping with your ignorant comment while I am also coping with the loss of my dog, he would have died if we left him home too. The vet said it was okay for him to travel.
