Gaining and losing fat can be thought of as the net result of fatty acid storage and fatty acid release. When you eat you store fat, then in between meals you release and burn it or use it for various different things

Over time, if you eat more fat than you use – you will gain bodyfat. This is governed primarily by calorie balance. If you burn more fat than you store you’ll lose bodyfat, this is also governed by calorie balance
.
If you eat more fat you burn more fat, but most of the fat that is used here will be the dietary fat you just ate. If you eat more carbohydrate you burn less fat, but you also ate less
.
Over time it pretty much evens out. Take care of protein, calories, micronutrients and activity. The rest takes care of itself

New blog post is up .... just in case there’s no news to interest u today. 👶 🤴 😊. This week is about how my mindset is finally changing ...... snippet below (I have been talking about the marathon ) ..... ...........Anyway my point to this is that I had – about 5 bottles of beer (maybe more if u include when I got home 🤔)an ice cream and burger and chips. Now…… I know if I do that EVERY day then that is going to massively hinder my progress, well there would be no progress - not of the scales going down …… but doing that for one day (I literally can’t remember the last time I had an ice cream!) is NOT going to hinder my progress – it may slow it down by a nano second but that’s ok. I did a nice thing for people that I care about and had a fantastic day out creating memories – that matters more. My husband video’d both reactions and me running (about 20 seconds) with them. My FIRST reaction when I saw them was jees I look FAT FAT FAT…….I thought I looked ok when I got dressed, but look at me!!!! 🤮 THEN I watched again and looked at their faces – they couldn’t have given a stuff what I was wearing, what I looked like or anything else – they were literally just happy to see ME! That was quite an interesting thought process for me to digest – I even posted the videos on FB not worrying about what I looked like because it was more important for them to see their huge achievement – than me worrying about my huge ass 😂

And herein lies the problem ....... weekends 🙄🙄#JFDI 🤔

Overhydrating with plain water can lead to a dilution of essential minerals in your blood, and this in turn can lead to:

- Feeling thirsty despite drinking a lot
- Dry skin/lips despite drinking a lot
- Headaches
.
But if this continues it can lead to hyponatremia – a condition that causes heart palpitations and even heart attacks! .
If you habitually drink way more water than you need (multiply your weight in kg by 30, if it’s much more than that, this is you) then consider cutting back – or at least add some electrolytes to it! .

Vegan Protein bars/flapjacks

10 minutes to make, 10 mins to bake 🙌
.
50g Almond Butter
20g Coconut Oil
40g Agave Syrup
200g Oats
10g Chia Seeds
75g Awesome Vegan Protein
200ml almond milk
.
1 - Pre-heat oven to 175c
2 - On a low heat melt and mix the coconut, agave and almond butter
3 - Add in oats, soaked chia seeds and protein. Add in almond milk until stiff porridge consitancy is acheived.
4 - Bake in the oven in a bar mold, or a flat tin for 10 minutes and leave to cool
.
Makes 10 bars and I put the macros into MFP under “Awesome Vegan Bars”
