Looking back in my archives and found this (@natevandyken and I doing a classic benchmark WOD on my birthday a couple years back)! This Thursday will be the start of the '17 Reebok CrossFit Games Open (Here comes the pain). I may not have the engine I did last year but I have done every Open previously... so even if I wanted to take this one off I wouldn't be setting a good example for the people I currently coach and look up to me 👊🏼 The Opens is designed for an all INCLUSIVE global assessment to determine where you stand overall in your fitness training, expose your weaknesses / what you need to work on, and show you the progress you've made all year from the previous Opens. Absolutely, the workouts they release are some of the worst I've ever done and often times leave me on my back for 10 minutes because I don't want to move, but guess what, you get back up and do it again and again!
It's also to test where you are as an individual, and even your gyms programming / instructors coaching too.💥💥 Have a good attitude about it! Celebrate with your gym the progress you've made from before. More than likely there is always someone who is stronger, more conditioned, and faster than you, but who's to say there's not people you are stronger than, more conditioned, and faster than they are.
