ANASAZI... The Tonto National Forest is my second home. If I told myself 4 months ago that I would be the happiest I've ever been in my whole life after living in the woods for 2 months, not showering for 56 days, peeing in the woods, hiking 5 days a week with 45 pounds on my back with random people that I've never met before that I'm supposed to trust, and make fire with a bow drill, I would of said that I was crazy.
I've been back for almost 2 months since being off the Trail and I think of it everyday of my life. The people there have changed my life. Being there I was able to love myself and gain self confidence. Anasazi gave me my life back. Anasazi opened my mind to true happiness, self-love, confidence, what true friends are, and how nature can heal the soul.
Anasazi I miss you. Tonto I miss you. I miss the cactus. I miss the sunsets and sunrises. I miss all the rocks. I miss the creek beds. I miss waking up to the sound of a creek. I actually miss my sleeping bag. I miss falling asleep to my Trail Walkers singing. I miss hiking. I miss sitting by the fire at night. I miss FireCircle/StarCircle. I miss sleeping under the stars with the sound of crickets. I miss eating off of a wooden spoon. I miss ponderosa pine trees that smelt like cream soda. I miss juniper. I miss manzanita. And this list goes on and on for miles and miles.
I know now that the simple lifestyle is the lifestyle for me. Anasazi you are my home. My belonging place. You are my We. I cannot wait to go back and I just want you all to know how much I will forever be in debt to this program and all the Trail Walkers and my Shadow.
#futuretrailwalker #heartatpeace #tontonationalforest #belongingplace I miss you guys with all my heart ❤️
