This dress was purchased in 2014. Unfortunately, after that I put on so much weight that it never fit me. Yesterday I wore it after three years. A month ago I never wore sleeveless. Three months ago I never clicked full length pictures because I didn't like the way I looked.
Things I've learnt : if you chase losing weight with the end goal of "looking good", your motivation will gradually run out. Don't chase superficial crap like looks or "being thin". Chase a LIFESTYLE. Yes, today, I do feel good about fitting into this dress. I feel good about the way I look. But more importantly, I'm much more active and conscious about what I put into my body.
It took me forever to dance in front of complete strangers and not worry about how I look. Now I realise I should have just been more confident right from the start and worked on my fitness every single day. Things you need to lose weight : PATIENCE. DEDICATION. SELF ACCEPTANCE. "Good health is not about looks. It's a feeling." Change your lifestyle. Don't chase a superficial idea of looking better. Chase a deeper idea of BEING FITTER. And more importantly, ACCEPT yourself just the way you are today - your thighs, your butt, your legs, your arms, your stomach, your height. Every. Single. Damn. Thing. This is YOU. EMBRACE it. ALLOW yourself to be loved by YOU today. And consistently WORK for a better you for tomorrow.
