Strutting through this thing called balance like...🤸🏼♂️
Before my competition, I remember I couldn't wait to jump into a diet & training regimen. When I was nearing the end of my program, I was anxious to get into a reverse diet. As I was going through the reverse diet, I couldn't wait to regain my strength and reach a place of maintenance and sustainability. Now, 4 months after setting foot on stage, I can say that I have found just that. 😇
After 6-7 years of being a self proclaimed "health nut", people continue to ask how I stay motivated. I discarded the need for "motivation" long ago, but if I had to give an answer to this question, it would be this: I constantly have a goal to work toward. Sometimes that goal may be physique related or involve getting leaner, but other times it may be strength gains, metabolic restoration, or simply not putting on those extra lbs during the holidays so you're not dreading the zoo that is a gym come January 😜 (LOL - #AmIRite 😂😝) No one goal is better or more valid than the other. I loved the struggle of bodybuilding and challenging my physique to reach new heights, but in retrospect, I have loved every chapter within my journey just the same, all for different reasons. That is what has kept me consistent as long as it has.
Wherever you find yourself in fitness, know that much like in life, no road ends when you reach one destination. Right now, I'm embracing my happiness exactly where I'm at. But when the time comes and I feel like rocking the boat again, I'll welcome it with open arms. #HealthIsWealth 😊
