Daliya khichdi/Broken wheat khichdi/Indian porridge-one of my favourite food items. It's a very good substitute over rice. I've added almost all the pulses-toor dal, yellow moong dal, green mong dal, masoor dal, chana dal, urad dal and gave a zest of fenugreek to enhance the taste. It's highly proteinaceous and healthy. You may also load it with your favourite veggies; as I was short of veggies I couldn't.
