SRM Plank: SRM stands for Standard Reference Method and is the reference scale for determining the color of a beer. The scale roughly ranges from 2-40 and begins at a pale straw color all the way to black. The best way to determine the color of your beer is to hold it up to a light source or shine a flashlight through it. The color is usually heavily determined by the malt used in the beer. #beermaste#yogabeer#yogamom#yogafit#yogalife#yogaflow#yogapractice#yogajourney#yogagirl

S-A-T-U-R-D-A-Y NIGHT! _ No… we are not spending Saturday night listening to the Bay City Rollers... (who?)… but we are spending Saturday night enjoying the hell out of this 2017 GABS (Great Australasian Beer SpecTAPular) release by one of our absolute favourite brewers WOLF OF THE WILLOWS @wolfofthewillows RAISIN’ KILTS - RUM & RAISIN SCOTCH ALE is a collaboration with Tasmania’s LARK DISTILLERY @larkdistillery ... and is an absolute fookin’ treat (sorry about that bad Scottish accent there)… and is exactly what we felt like tonight… has absolutely hit the spot.
OK… we have to admit… we went into this one a little unsure… as usually the words “Rum & Raisin” is a flavour that we shy away from… really not huge fans of Rum… or Raisins… but goddamn we love a SCOTCH ALE… and this combination has really surprised and worked for us. This SCOTCH ALE has been aged in rum oak casks and that gives this a distinguished dry tone added to some really nice maltiness. Really wish this had of been released in a larger long-neck bottle… or... we had more than one of these right now… OK OK we want more!!! This is a beer that could really settle you in on a cold night!
Campout Porter Beer Camp Collaboration. Garage Project and Sierra Nevada. 7.7% ABV. It's brewed with Vanilla and Honey and uses smoked malts. I was a little nervous about this because I don't like beers that are too smoky. This was really well done and true to the name. The smoke flavor was light and had a hint of marshmallow sweetness. Good beer. 89/100
