Do you love the scrappy look of quilts but are new to quilting and haven't yet accumulated many scraps? (Hehe....yet! Just wait...they seem to multiply!) Joining a sewing bee on Instagram is a great way of getting some wonderful fabrics that you don't have in your stash and the bonus? ...meeting some lovely new friends! 💕
This quilt was made from bee blocks I received from #beehiveswarmraylee in 2016 and finally finished in 2017 for my FIL ❤️ So many lovely different red fabrics in there!
My modern sampler quilt made up from the blocks I have made during this year's beehive swaps plus various orphan blocks...it's currently about 42 wide by 80 long, so I will add a few more strips down the side to make it a bit wider and call it done #modernsamplerquilt#beehiveswarmraylee#alternategridwork
Playing with my left over HST blocks and my blocks from this years beehive swaps...I think I've just about got the layout nailed, just need to work out what colour background/sashing to use...I'm leaning towards a grey similar to the design wall flannel #blossomheartquilts#beehiveswarmraylee#beehivequilts
Under the machine this morning...chain link from the #blossomheartquilts#beehiveswarmraylee I'm loving how the straight line quilting is accentuating the chain links, just need to work out what to do in the hexagons....
