Hey weather girls!
Did you know that honeybees can actually tell when its going to rain? When the weathers turning the ladies increase their workload to make up for the time they'll spend inside the hive during rain fall.
Researchers at Jiangxi Agricultural University attached tiny radio-frequency identification (RFID) tags to 300 worker honeybees. The bees spent more time out of the hive foraging and stopped work later in the afternoon when the following day proved to be rainy rather than sunny. They seemed to be responding to cues like changes in humidity, temperature and barometric pressure that preceded rainstorms. #beefacts PC: @jturfts2011
