Do you hire a photographer because:
1. you want art for your home.
2. you want to document this time in yours and your family's life
3. You want an image for the yearly Christmas card
4. Only for special occasions ❔❔❔❔❔❔
I ask because a friend and I recently discussed the topic. In her mind she wasn't hiring a photographer "because I want art for my home." She said she gets a photo session every couple years and she can't imagine getting more than one a year like her other friend does. "I wouldn't be able to keep up with it." She said.
"Why? What is it about a photo session that overwhelms you?" I curiously asked. She responded, "every time I have a photo session I get an 8x10 print of each of my boys and put it on my family portrait wall. I couldn't imagine changing all those out 2-3 times a year." 💡
Aha! She was having photo sessions done each year or every other year with the end goal of having an image to put in those frames. In other words, she was hiring a photographer to give her art for her home. 👓
We chatted about the difference between her sessions and her friends/my sessions. I may photograph my children and the little or big events in their life every week, but I am NoT changing out my frames 55x a year. Nope not at all. 🖼
My sessions absolutely give you artwork worthy photographs. But that is not their purpose. The purpose of my sessions is to give you and your husband, and your children a memory of a this time in your life because it all happens remarkably fast. 📝
Let me ask again, with family session season quickly approaching, and Christmas cards and presents in the back of your mind, why do you hire a photographer? 📸
This year, together we can accomplish more. .
