Yesterday, WH Editor @jacqmooney met someone truly special... ๐Ÿ™Œ ๐Ÿ’ช "Today I had the absolute pleasure to meet the gentleman to my left, Mr Ron Stuart. At 85, Ron was the oldest runner to smash the 10km at today's Sydney Running Festival to celebrate the 85th birthday of @blackmoresaustralia and the Sydney Harbour Bridge. His story is incredible! Always a keen athlete, he just missed out on the 1956 Olympics due to injury. And, after contracting polio at the age of 26, had to learn to walk again. He got back into running regularly in 1991 and recently won gold at the World Masters Games in the extremely challenging 2000m steeplechase. He still clocks up 30km a week, running 5km every morning in a cracking time of 32 minutes! And credits running with keeping him fit, sharp and connected to his community as part of the Northside Running Group. In short, he's an absolute legend! Meeting great people like Ron is one of the main reasons I love running. All ages. All fitness levels. As we head into the festive season, I think about how difficult this time can be for those who have a trying relationship with food. Itโ€™s also a time where social media and health blogs like to focus on the restrictive side of eating.

Letโ€™s instead focus on our loving relationships, with ourselves and our friends and families. Letโ€™s focus on the little magical moments that come with baking Christmas cookies and drinking eggnog.
