Day 23- Al-Hameed: The Praiseworthy Today’s colour choice is inspired by the colours of the sky at sunset today- and the perfect example and time for praising Al-Hameed! “Allah calls Himself Al-Hameed— the Most Praiseworthy , the Praised One — on ten occasions in the Quran.
Linguistically, hamd is based on mahabbah (love) and ta’dheem (honour) and it implies admiration and gratitude towards the one who is praised (mahmood). Allah is Al-Hameed, He is the One who is always deserving of praise, regardless if He is being praised or not.” “This Name is closely associated with shukr, meaningful thankfulness. But hamd is much more encompassing than shukr. Thankfulness is expressed to someone for a particular deed or favor, whereas hamd is praise and gratitude not simply for overt favors, but for the inherent qualities the praiseworthy possesses. Thus it is said that hamd (praise) is the pinnacle of shukr (thankfulness). “

Let us truly be people of Alhamdolillah by praising Al-Hameed for His blessings, provisions (physical, emotional,spiritual)-we being the ‘Ashraful makhlooq’ should be the first running towards His Praise and tasbeeh...Alhamdolillah 💕. #100dayscountdowntoramadan #99namesofallah #99namesproject2018 #beautifulnamesofallah

Day 21- Al Hakeem: The All-Wise “Hakeem and Haakim come from the root haa-kaaf-meem, which carries three main meanings. The first meaning is to restrict or prevent something or someone. The second main meaning of this root is that of being wise and of knowing the true nature of things. The third is to pass judgement, to decide and put matters in correct places.

Al-Hakeem is the One with ultimate wisdom, who did not create and legislate anything in vain. Al-Hakeem carries out His divine will with His perfect wisdom: He judges, decrees, inflicts, and relieves in the most rightful way, place, and time.” How would we act everyday knowing in our heart with utter certainty that EVERYTHING that has happened or will happen is due to a perfect plan of Allah- there are No slip ups or mistakes...it’s all taken care of already...doesn’t it give a sense of relief and submission as well- what control are we trying to achieve by our overthinking and fretting? For truly if all that we are going through is part of Al-Hakeem’s Master plan....you won’t be wronged in any tiny minutest way...SubhanAllah. #100dayscountdowntoramadan #99namesofallah #99namesproject2018 #beautifulnamesofallah

Day 20- Al Mubeen:
Allah calls Himself Al-Mubeen— The Clear, The Manifest One— once in the Quran. Al-Mubeen is the Clear and Manifest Truth. He is the One who clarifies what is falsehood and what is truth and manifests His signs to the creation. Al-Mubeen is the One who is far from and above anything else in resemblance, His Names and Attributes are clear and He is the One who clarifies the truth from falsehood in this life and ultimately on the Day of Judgement. (Understand Quran). #100dayscountdowntoramadan #99namesofallah #99namesproject2018 #beautifulnamesofallah

Day 19- Al- Haqq: The Absolute Truth

Allah is al-Haqq, the Absolute Truth. Al-Ghazali says: “Al-Haqq—the Truth—is the one who is the antithesis of falsehood, as things may become evident by their opposites…

If Allah is the Truth, then His Words are the truth; His Promise is the truth; His Threat is the truth; and His Acts are the truth.

Thus if we are the creation of the Ultimate Truth, and we worship Allah the Truth, then we have to live this life by the principles of truth. As Allah tells us in the Qur’an: “For that is Allah, your Lord, the Truth. And what can be beyond truth except error? So how are you averted?” [Qur’an, 10:32]

Allah says in the Qur’an: “And do not mix the truth with falsehood or conceal the truth while you know [it].” [Qur’an, 2:42]

So what truth does the Qur’an teach us? The truth of purpose, of accountability, of return to our Lord, of benefitting humanity, of cooperating with others for good, of standing up for the oppressed, and of the fact that Allah is with us and protecting us when we stand for truth, no matter what Pharoah is standing before us.

If we truly believe in the truth of the Qur’an, then we need to understand the purpose of our lives. We must work for something greater. We must take comfort in Allah’s promise when things are difficult for us.” A beautiful Dua from Prophet Muhammad sws:
اللهم أرنا الحق حقاً، وارزقنا اتباعه، وأرنا الباطل باطلاً، وارزقنا اجتنابه

Allahumma arina al-haqqa haqqan warzuqna ittiba’ah, wa arina al-batila batilan warzuqna ijtinabah

O Allah! Show us Truth as Truth and give us ability to follow it and show us Falsehood as Falsehood and give us the ability to avoid it. (Ameen)

Day18- Al Hafee: The Benevolent/ Ever-Hospitable

The other meanings are The Honorer and as per Ibn Kathir is ‘Extremely Kind’
The reference from Quran: Surah Maryam v 47-
SubhanAllah how beautiful is knowing that our Rabb is not just kind but Kind in every sense of the word, in ways which we can’t even comprehend or understand-
I am constantly reminded of how all the names covered so far show His immensely beautiful attributes which are a source of Rahmah to us all- even in the strong name of Al-Haseeb, I am reminded of how His wisdom encompasses EVERYTHING...and reassures me when I struggle internally- He knows... How can you connect with your Rabb using this name today?

Day 17- Al-Hafeez

similar to the name Al-Haafiz- “Allaah also calls Himself al-Hafeez in several places in the Qur’aan. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): “Surely, my Lord is Guardian over all things (Hafeez)” [Hood 11:57]
al-Khattaabi said in Sha’n al-Du’aa’ (67-68): “Al-Hafeez means al-Haafiz. Both are active participles but the form Hafeez carries a more intensive meaning.

Al-Sa’di said in his Tafseer (18): “Al-Hafeez is the One who protects that which He has created, and Whose knowledge encompasses that which He has brought into existence. He protects His slaves from falling into sin and disaster, and He takes care of them in all situations. He records the deeds of His slaves and the reward or punishment for that.”. (Source: Islamicqa). #100dayscountdowntoramadan #99namesofallah #99namesproject2018 #beautifulnamesofallah

Day- 16: Al-Haseeb “Allah calls Himself Al-Haseeb— The Reckoner, The Accountant, The Sufficient— on three occasions in the Quran. He’s the one who keeps account of everything in the worlds and requites even the smallest of deeds. Al-Haseeb is The Sufficient; in general because He takes care of all His slaves, giving them benefits and warding off harm. Al-Haseeb takes extra special care of those of His pious slaves who put their trust in Him, giving them support and victory!

The name Al-Haseeb is close in meaning to Al-Hafeedh, The Preserver. The balance of the entire cosmos shows that there’s a great power capable of computing even the smallest atom up to the largest planet; that power is Allah (swt)” This ultimate power belongs only and solely to Allah...and honestly I find it scary-however associated with it is also the mercy He has in accounting all the good- the ones we forget , the ones He sees and increases in reward...whereas the tawfeeq was from Him in the first instance as well.... Also read this beautiful reminder and mentioning to remind myself foremost: “The Prophet salallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam told us about a beautiful opportunity: The Scribe on the left delays registering the sin of a Muslim for six hours. If he repents (within these six hours), and seeks Allah’s forgiveness, they drop if off. If he doesn’t, they write is down as a single sin. [At-Tabaranee] When you’re about to sin, remind yourself that this sin will be written down and presented to you on the scariest day of your life: the day of Judgement. Take your chance to repent within six hours to avoid your sin being presented to you on this dreadful day.” (Understand Quran). #100dayscountdowntoramadan #99namesofallah #99namesproject2018 #beautifulnamesofallah #takeyourselftoaccount

✨✨✨ Allah ✨✨✨
Allah is An-Noor .

Descriptive meaning - The One Who is the divine Light of all the worlds. The One Whose Light illuminates the heart.

The One Who is the Light of wisdom and guidance. The One Whose Light clarifies, manifests and Reveals.

The One Light by which the obscure is made clear. The One Who Clears away all darkness and Directs aright.
“Allah is the Light (Noor) of the heavens and the earth. The example of His light is like a niche within which is a lamp, the lamp is within glass, the glass as if it were a pearly white star lit from the oil of a blessed olive tree, neither of the east nor of the west, whose oil would almost glow even if untouched by fire. Light upon light. Allah guides to His light whom He wills. And Allah presents examples for the people, and Allah is Knowing of all things.” Qur'an 24:35

Day 15-Al-Haafiz- The Preserver / Guardian
Al-Hafidh is The Guard (al-haaris, الحارس) and it comes from the root H-F-Dh (ح-ف-ظ). Allah preserves and protects not only as a Guardian against physical harm but also preserves all what we see around us. The entire universe is preserved by Allah- who is vigilant and aware of all its affairs.

Another meaning of al-Haafidh is also that Allah (swt) has guarded and preserved the Qur’an. Allah (swt) says: “Indeed, it is We who sent down the Qur’an and indeed, We will be its guardian.” (Qur’an, 15:9). How amazing is to ask the protection of The Ultimate Guardian who has the power to preserve - “The One who protects and preserves all of creation from perishing. The One who is vigilantly guarding every detail of all that has been created.

The One who remembers and preserves all that has ever been and all that is, while keeping under Divine protection the knowledge of all that shall be.” #100dayscountdowntoramadan #99namesofallah #99namesproject2018 #beautifulnamesofallah
