Recap of Colorado Springs 2018 Warrior Games! We were at 7258 ft altitude and it was quite an adjustment!
I still ended up breaking my own 100m record time and ran my fastest 200m in my life with an arm that had a 40 percent mobility loss. I surprised myself breaking not just 1 but 5 records for my classification!
I miss my teammates but adaptive sports have really helped me to open up and realize that I am capable of anything despite my physical limitations or what one would call disabilities. Also, adaptive athletics are very good for those with invisible wounds and illnesses too!
I have witnessed and believe that adaptive athletics not only changes lives, it saves lives! It is a much better alternative therapy to promote healthier lifestyle mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and physically while providing those the opportunity to realize that they are capable of anything no matter the circumstances!
For those who are not familiar with adaptive athletics, they are Paralympic style sports tailored to the persons needs or injuries. For example, if you can only swim with one arm but all of your other limbs are functional they teach you how! You aren’t limited by your limitations!
The universe is yours my friend, now create it how you want it to be! 🙌😘💕💗 Photo credits: First photo taken by Dave Long, Second by Tracy C., Third by Leigh Ann W.
