What better way to celebrate #FitFriday than with record holder and fitness icon @Kayla_Itsines, who made it into this year’s NEW #GWR2018 edition for her outstanding attempts on last year’s GWR Day. Last November Kayla led thousands of women in Australia for five athletic record attempts. In one class, they managed to achieve Most people performing squats, Most people star jumping, Most people performing lunges, Most people performing push-ups and Most people performing burpees. At the age 25, record holder Kayla has made a huge impact in the fitness world! While she already has a huge following and is “fitspiration” to many around the globe, she’s now taken her efforts to now record-breaking proportions! It can be so easy to fix our thoughts on the opposite of what is listed above. I know I am guilty of this often. Tonight as you lay your head down on your pillow, pray for eyes to see what is true and lovely. Pray for a heart that gives light to what is praiseworthy, and pray for discernment, and strength to battle against anything that is not. XO! 💕

My #transformationtuesday goes out to all our #100strong women!
I am SOOOO inspired and so amazed to see everyone’s progress in just 4 weeks. Whether it’s been physical or emotional, big or small, it really doesn’t matter. What matters is that we all chose to commit to these 12 weeks together, and we have pushed and encouraged and inspired one another to keep going. Because let’s face it....life, kids, work, or whatever else can get in the way and become an excuse and can keep us from reaching our goals! Somedays it’s HARD to stay motivated and workout after a long workday or to get up at the crack of dawn to get that leg workout in ! .

But this 200+ group of women have shown up each and every day, proving that you can do it if you put your mind to it, no matter what obstacles or challenges are presented ! WE CAN reach those goals with just a little push and some inspiration from others. It’s really that simple! (Most days)
Even I have seen a change in the last 4 weeks which I was pleasantly surprised to see! Just goes to show that consistency and hard work pay off.
So let’s dominate these next 8 weeks and show everyone what we are all capable of !

THE FEMINIST WORKOUT || Nah, I'm just kidding... this workout is for everyone because the truth is, if you have a vagina you're a feminist (and if you're a good human you're a feminist too). Unfortunately there is still a small but underlying anti-feminist culture in the fitness industry - it's certainly getting better but it's important that we (as women especially) recognise it and don't allow it to be continued. Don't be bullied out of the weights room if that is something you WANT to try or be a part of. Of course women don't HAVE to train weights but there are a truck load of benefits, for women in growing the strength that weight training can bring - in particular, the prevention of osteoporosis (which is statistically more prevalent in women than in men) because heavy resistance training has shown to IMPROVE bone mineral density. This is not me saying women should be the same as men or be as physically strong as men because that would be difficult and maybe even unnecessary from a physiological stand point - however we can certainly aim to be strong and bad ass in our own way. Vandag se roete was 'n Figure 8 - begin aan die gatkant van die roete maar 2km in hervat ek my normale roete. Was heel lekker, behalwe dat ek twee keer my gat gesien het soos ek trip. Ek moes die eerste keer omtrent 5m hardloop om my balans te herwin en hoewel dit my Max Average Speed op 9km/h bring, pyn my tone nou so ek weet nie of ek dit as 'n wensituasie moet beskou nie.

I was my heaviest on the left, feeling sluggish, not eating right (too much take out 🍱🍔🍟😦), stressed from work and life, and not on a steady workout regimen..when I decided to make a change. I found @kayla_itsines app which made it super easy to stay on track with both diet and exercise and the rest is history! Inspired by the @9roundsaskatoon boxing circuit training! Here's how it goes - 3 minutes each exercise with 30 sec active rest (not filmed) for a total of 30 minute continuous workout!! 1. Stairclimber (not filmed)
2. Weight squat kicks - front and sides
3. 10 split jump squats + 10 side taps
4. Weight back toe taps (10 each side then switch sides)
5. Side steps with band (this one burns 🔥)
6. 10 kettle bell in and outs + 5 swings
7. 10 high knees + 2 butlers
8. Weight squat lunges (10 each side)
9. Weighted hamstring lunges (10 each side)
Active rest stages - 30 seconds between circuit exercises
Examples • mountain climbers, v-sits, Russian twists, skipping, planks etc.
