I'm kicking this week's booty and it feels pretty dang good! I've been eating better than usual and I've been keeping up with #bbgweek8 for the most part. In 4 short weeks I'm doing two @tough_mudders in one weekend so I'm hoping to keep this up and be semi prepared to feel the pain. Haha. .

Itโ€™s been hard getting back into the swing of working out since coming home from vacation but Iโ€™m not giving up! Got my lazy butt into the gym today after work and did Mondayโ€™s Abs & Arms! Someone keeps turning off the AC in my gym which makes it disgustingly hot and after my workout I literally had to take a cold bath to cool down. BUT I had a great workout and getting back in there made me want to keep going! ๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿป๐Ÿ˜„

Two very exciting things happened today!!! My booty did a thing!! Iโ€™ve never seen it as peachy as it was today which makes leg day fun again! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿ˜ And also! I punched myself in the stomach!!! Am I trying to get more stretching done? Yes. Have I finished Arms and Abs Week 8? Yes. Do I still have rolls if I bend my body? Yes. Is this natural? Yes. It might not be easy coming to terms with the fact I donโ€™t always look like I do when Iโ€™m posing in front of the mirror, but Iโ€™m trying ๐Ÿคธโ€โ™‚๏ธ My stomach is always where I gain weight first and lose it last, so itโ€™s always been a troubled area for me, but part of this lifestyle change, which is coming in small steps everyday and through consistency, is also accepting that my process is different from everybody elseโ€™s and abs might not be something I can achieve unless I give up foods I enjoy and you honestly donโ€™t wanna see me going without chocolate during shark week ๐Ÿ˜‚๐ŸซSo hereโ€™s to everybody who might not feel like theyโ€™re getting the body they thought theyโ€™d have by now but keep going at it ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿ•บ#BBG #bbgweek8 #fitspiration #yogapose

I've wanted to study animals as far as I can remember. In 2009, I went to Quรฉbec with my parents, and I saw Whales for the first time. Since then, I've been obsessed with them. Last September, I started the MSc of Marine Mammal Science at the University of St Andrews, a 1-year long Master. "It's gonna be intense" they said. But none of us cared. We all "knew" what intense meant. We had gone through all these different experiences. The only thing is: it actually was intense. I used to be at the top of the class, but I did not achieve that this year. I used to got As, Distinctions, but I did not achieve that this year. Don't get me wrong, this master has been very interesting, and it allows me to do what I've always loved, and I'd do it again without thinking. But it seriously affected my self confidence. At some point I felt like I didn't even deserve to be in this master. I felt like I didn't deserve all that money that my parents had spent to allow me not to take on loans. I can never thank them enough: @nathaliecompagnon and @jimmy196449 . ๐Ÿ˜˜ I felt like I didn't deserve anything. The scale going up didn't make it any better as I had trouble finding the time to workout and was letting myself go on sugar at any time of day. Then I saw her on Facebook. @kayla_itsines was promoting the BBG workout program with all these amazing progress pictures, with these comments assuring that the biggest change was gonna be inside. First I didn't believe it, I thought it was a scam, another of these "miraculous" ways of losing weight with fake people in the pictures. But looking at it more closely, I could see all this community of amazing girls supporting each other into learning how to feel better about yourself. And I thought "Why not?". At the end of March, I started the BBG Program. It was SO difficult, but it felt great, because I got through one workout after the other, and I kept pushing myself, and I discovered myself again. I found that fighter mentality back that had always made who I was and that I had lost on the way. ... [more in the comments]

So today I taped myself working out for the first time. Iโ€™ve never done it for two reasons: 1. Iโ€™m lazy. 2. I donโ€™t want to watch videos of myself ๐Ÿ˜‚. Here I am doing part of week 8 legs. I swear I was getting way more height off the ground than I actually did ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ. I also realized I never took my mascara off last night since I sweat it right off today ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ. Maybe Iโ€™ll tape myself more often to look at form and progress? Weโ€™ll see! .

Iโ€™m still out of town and had to workout in my dads home office. I had to stay on that doormat so I wouldnโ€™t wake anyone up with my jumping ๐Ÿ’ƒ. So yes, you can workout in a tiny space and still get a good sweat on! I literally didnโ€™t leave that mat! .

Today is our last day of vacation and we are heading to my Grandmas 85th birthday party! So thankful for this family time! What are your Saturday plans? .

I grew up thinking this is the most beautiful woman in the world, I just do not know when in my young teenagehood did I forget this image of beauty carved in my mind and started starving my soul and body to attain another? It has been a dark and difficult time that stole endless precious moments from me, but I am so happy with the wisdom aging brought and ability to recover from this toxicity that poisoned me and made me hate who I was. I applaud loudly all silent warriors as I was, leading perfect lifes while hiding their not so perfect secrets. I hope you have the strength to seek help sooner than me, and that you not only realize your beauty and worth but also that you find your peace ๐Ÿ’“๐Ÿฆ‹

In all honesty, there were times when I contemplated it. I was in the "results" mindset and I kept seeing them rolling in for those who ate low carb, no carb, in high kcal deficit etc. etc. But than I asked myself what am I doing here? Is it a summer project or a life project? Do I want to look good in a bikini or do I want to glow for the rest of my life? I started to come out of the mentality "I will do this until I get to ___ and than I won't have to do it anymore" because it is not how the process works. I know I cannot eat no carb or 1200kcal a day for the rest of the piece of eternity I have on this planet, so I am not even going for that. Small consistent changes than I can keep up for the rest of my life have up so far given me amazing benefits, BUT when I coupled them with being patient. So please be as well, don't get succumbed into the pressures of #dietculture and only adopt lifestyle hacks that you see yourself doing when you are old and gray too ๐Ÿค—๐Ÿ˜…
