the smoke wrapped itself around her near-gone body,
a stormy blanket, suffocating the skin,
immigrating to her pores,
she idled here.
waiting for the unchalked breath.
a tiny chasm in the unknowable
fog gasped apart.
she shot oxygen,
smoke in her hair.
