Personal post...so y'all know I lost my familiar recently, my cat of 14 years. I've been so lost without Isis, and I miss her everyday that she doesn't come and sit on the arm of the chair, follow me around the house, meow at me with her incessant Siamese meow....and I miss her every night that she is not laying on my side purring. I'm crying right now just writing about her.
Yesterday we had an adoption event. I wore my Bast necklace made by Fallyn @the.rising.moon for the first time yesterday. I've been scared that I would break it and I love it so much. Bast was the name of the familiar I had before Isis. She was named after the Goddess Bast, the patron goddess of cats, women, music and art, protector of cats, women, and children in Egyptian culture. Since we rescue a lot of cats, she is a fitting Patroness of our home.
A couple of hours into the event, a lady we met recently who has a homestead and raises bees showed up with some kittens she had rescued. We adopted out 4 dogs yesterday, and were busy, but during a break my husband n kids walked over to see the kittens. I saw him immediately (originally thought he was a she, he's so small...pretty sure, 98% sure that we have a little boy). He looked so much like Isis as a kitten, big head, skinny neck, I teared up immediately. When I held him he curled up on my chest and smiled with his big blue eyes. I knew I needed him and he needed me.
Fallyn, the necklace did exactly what you hoped. Thank you, love. I'm going to post some more pics of the necklace too. 💖💖💖 #rescuekitten #rescuelife #familiar #Bast
